Don't take anything at face value. Remember: everything is negotiable! It exceeds negotiating about your new car, your home or your salary. You can also negotiate about a pair of jeans at the store. Or about who does what around the house. About what time your teenage daughter has to be home on the weekend. About who should rake the leaves from your tree out of the neighbor's yard. And yes, also about what you're worth, or that you don't want to work on a holiday. About taking time off. As long as you know the rules.
