The principles of force-field analysis

When you want to identify the forces that influence a decision or a situation, conduct a force-field analysis. Especially when you want to determine the biggest influence(er) and whom to involve at an early stage, in order to achieve your goals.

How? Follow these 8 steps

Step 1: Make a list of all forces, directly, and indirectly involved.

Step 2: Identify each forces attitude towards the situation. Is it positive or negative?

Step 3: Color code each attitude
            Positive = green
            Negative = red
            Neutral = light blue
            Unknown = dark blue

Step 4: Identify and list the forces involved, how they relate and how they are related to the situation.
